Little Dazzler Doll: Veronica

Just finished another doll to add to our growing collection of patterns. This is Veronica, she is larger than my other dolls and She stands at 17 inches (43 cms).

The doll itself is knitted in DK yarn, hair is knitted in garter stitch and sewn in place. There is a choice of two hairstyles, ringlets or two buns and both are finished off with two cute little hair bows.

Her pretty dress is knitted in 4ply yarn and is removable. It fastens at the back with two buttons and a little bow at the waist band.

You can have lots of fun choosing the yarn and matching various colours. For the pink doll I used Bo Peep 4ply yarn which is a mottled pink and grey that knitted up beautifully and gave a very pretty effect.

For the doll with ringlets I used an old favourite of mine for the dress, King Cole Spot 4ply. It always looks good knitted up next to a contrasting colour.

Of course she can look just as good in a plain 4 ply yarn.

Little Doll Head Booties

I’ve been busy making baby booties this past week and writing up the pattern for them. I love making little booties their quick to knit up and always look so sweet when finished. Instead of finishing them off with little animal heads I’ve gone for little doll heads instead.

These booties have a picot edging to give them a prettier more decorative effect. They are knitted in DK yarn even the little heads. The booties are knitted on 3mm needles and 2.75mm needles for the little heads.

As usual you can have a lot of fun combining different colours and they are a great project for using up those leftover balls of yarn.

All pieces are knitted flat on two needles and sewn together. They would make a lovely gift for a little one teemed with a matching knitted doll.

Little Dazzler Elephant: Ella

Staying with the theme of elephants i decided to write up my pattern for Ella. Who doesn’t love a cute little elephant and they always find their way into a nursery collection of little animals.

Ella is 12 inches (31cms) knitted in DK yarn and has a dress and cardigan which are removeable.

I love using flecked or variegated yarn for the dresses as it adds more colour and gives a similar effect as a cotton print dress.

This dress fastens with two buttons at the back and with her matching hair bow she looks very coordinated!

As usual you can have a lot of fun pairing colours together. Her comfy cardigan gives her a cute little homely look. All pieces are knitted flat on two needles and pieces sewn together.

First Day at School

Suzie is a 13 inch (34 cms) doll knitted in DK and and ready for her first day at school wearing her smart uniform and new school bag.

All pieces are knitted flat on two needles and sewn together. Hair is knitted in garter stitch and sewn in place with yarn added to create plaits. School Pinafore and Cardigan which are removable are also in DK yarn.

The pattern can be adapted to accommodate all school colours. Would make a lovely gift for a little one due to start school.

Sleepover

In this present lockdown climate I’m sure there are lots of little girls missing sleepovers with their best friends. At least with this project you can create a couple of sleepover pals that might tide a little girl over until these restrictions are lifted.

These little dolls and sleeping bags were made using the Rosa doll pattern.

The doll measures 8 inches ( 21 cms) and the sleeping bag is 9 inches (23 cms) so a good project for using up leftover oddments of yarn. For the last few months I’ve been knitting from my stash which is a good thing as I have so much yarn I don’t think I’ll ever get through it all. Must admit I am looking forward to the day when restrictions are lifted and we can do some real shopping, the local wool shop will be high on my list. I know you can buy yarn online but for me it’s not the same. I like to be able to see the yarn and touch it, and seeing lots of yarn beautifully displayed actually gives me more creative ideas.

The Ballet Class

No quite Degas but these little girls are full of enthusiasm to get their performance right. What little girl doesn’t dream of becoming a prima ballerina and this little doll would make a lovely mascot.

Isabella is a 13 inch (34cms) ballerina doll knitted flat on two needles in DK yarn.

She is constructed in a standing position, the tutu skirt is knitted separately and sewn in place. The ballet wrap also in DK is knitted in garter stitch and removable.

The wrap is secured at the side by a little button.

The hair and bun are knitted separately and sewn in place, then adorned with a band and bow. A little ribbon rose can be added to the tutu for further embellishment.

Poppy and Pip

I love creating toys which have good play value. As a child I would spend hours putting dolls and teddy bears to bed or playing about with dolls houses. So my latest pattern is Poppy and her puppy Pip who have a comfy armchair to sit in.

Poppy is an eight inch (20 cms) doll knitted in DK yarn with removable dress and cardigan which are knitted in 4 ply. Poppy is the twin sister of my doll Rosa and their clothes are interchangeable.

The little dog is also knitted in Dk yarn, he stands at three inches (8 cms) and is knitted in reverse stocking stitch. No point in telling him to stay off the furniture, the armchair is far to comfy.

The armchair is knitted with DK yarn in garter stitch throughout. It’s a straight forward knit, you will need a small piece of cardboard to fit into the base so it keeps it’s shape and the sides and back are sewn in place.

It would make a great gift for a little girl who would have hours of fun with her. Once you’ve made one, you’ll be making more in different colour combinations.

Little Dazzler Doll: Amy

Let me introduce Amy, the latest doll added to our growing collection of patterns. She is knitted in DK yarn and stands at 13 inches (34 cms)

Her tunic/jumper, leggings, boots and shoulder bag are also in DK yarn and are fully removable.

Her hair is knitted in reverse stocking stitch and sewn in place with ringlets, hairband and bow added for a pretty affect.

A lot of fun can be had choosing colour combinations, giving each doll her own unique character. All pieces are knitted flat on two needles and sewn together.

Little Dazzler Doll: Rosa

What little girl can’t resist tucking her doll up for the night into a comfy bed. This project would be a big hit as it includes doll, removable pinafore and pretty little sleeping bag.

The little doll is 8 inches (21 cms) and is knitted in Dk yarn on 3.25mm needles, and as only small amounts of yarn are needed it would be good for using up leftover yarn The pinafore is knitted in 4ply yarn on 3mm needles with crossover straps fastened by two little buttons.

The bed is 9 inches (23 cms) and is knitted in DK yarn on 4mm needles. The pillow edging is an eyelet edging knitted separately and sewn around top and sides of pillow and across the front cover of the bed. For and extra decorative effect and can be threaded with narrow ribbon or similar trim.

All pieces are knitted flat on two needles and sewn together.

As usual you can have lots of fun with colour combinations and the chances are you will make more than one set! It would make a great little stocking filler for Christmas and just the right toy for a sleepover at Nana’s.

Little Dazzler Doll: Leah

Here are a couple of girls who love to dress up! Knowing how much little girls love to dress up dolls I’ve made sure the clothes in my doll patterns are removable which increases the play value.

 

This doll and her clothes are knitted in DK yarn, all pieces are knitted flat on two needles and sewn together. Leah has boots and stripy tights a warm jumper/sweater and a pretty pinafore.

The hair is knitted in reverse stocking stitch and sewn in place with strands of yarn threaded at the sides to create the plaits/braids. All very secure so even with lots of boisterous play the hair won’t moult!

The jumper has a little press fastener at the neck opening to make dressing and undressing easier.

The pinafore has straps which fasten with two buttons on the moss stitch bib….

…and crossover at the back.

You can have lots of fun with different colour combinations for the clothes and hair colour.  The clothes from the Hannah Doll also fit the Leah doll so you can built up a decent little wardrobe for her.
